Considering College – Career Training?

Compare costs of colleges in other states: public and private!

Stop-Determine:

*     Cost of Attendance— BE WARY OF THE WORD FREE;

*     Credit transferability—will they transfer to most colleges?  KNOW THE ACCREDITATION!

*     What are the hidden costs--if any?

*     Legitimate schools don’t have an enrollment contract.

*     What degree will I be receiving upon graduation?

CAUTION-Ask Yourself:

*      What are the entrance requirements? Is it just too easy to get in?

*      Am I feeling pressured to sign on the dotted line?

*      What is the schools reputation?  (check with the Better Business Bureau)

*      Is the school using aggressive marketing tactics? Phoning? Visiting your home?

*      Are the job placement numbers realistic?

*      Facilities:  safe? clean? up-to-date?

Go:

*       I’ve talked to an independent source for enrollment information.

*       I’ve checked the instructors’/teachers’ qualifications; I’ve even sat in on a class.

*       I’ve talked to recent graduates and asked about their experiences.

*       I’ve compared at least two (2) schools regarding their award packages.

*       I’ve slept on my decision and feel confident in my choice to register.
