LEHIGH VALLEY COLLEGE
IS SET TO CLOSE IN 2009
Career Education Corp., a for-profit company that owns Lehigh Valley College,
said Friday it is closing the Center Valley campus and eight other schools.
Classes will continue for current students, but no new students will be
enrolled. The Pennsylvania attorney general is probing the institution for
allegedly steering students into high-interest loans that left them with
overwhelming debt.
What's next? Current students will have time to complete course work. Lehigh
Valley College will close by Dec. 31, 2009. Students may lodge a complaint with
the Pennsylvania attorney general's office.
